Member experiences: real-life case studies on CPD

We realise that our members can often provide the best guidance through sharing their experience of the continuing professional development (CPD) journey. We have pulled together a range of member stories that reflect the diversity of experiences within the further education (FE) and skills sector.

CPD in action

These examples of CPD in action show examples of how your professional development doesn't have to be extra work but a stimulating process that's already an intrinsic part of your everyday life.

Using technology to support your CPD

IfL published six case studies as part of the 'Supporting the Workforce' research project, which aims to help boost teachers' and trainers' skills in using new technologies to support their professional development.

Dual professionalism showcases

IfL members are often dual professionals, both highly qualified teachers as well as being experts in their initial profession – their subject specialism. IfL has worked with a number of other professional bodies to showcase the work of our members, their route into teaching, and the role of CPD in their dual professionalism.

Organisations supporting CPD

CPD can be even more effective and meaningful with the support of your employer. This series of case studies illustrate how effective strategies can be implemented to enhance employee development to benefit learners, staff and the organisation as a whole.
