The CPD sampling and review process
Sharing your CPD with us
Our approach to CPD
We ask all members to share a brief overview of their continuing professional development (CPD) with us as part of their annual declaration, but we also take the opportunity of looking at some members’ CPD in greater detail. This enables us to share good practice and good ideas.
The review will give you professional recognition for what you have done and how you have done it. We see this as part of a professional dialogue or conversation.
How do we take a random sample and review your CPD?
We take a random stratified sample. We calculate the total size of the membership as at 31 May every year and then use a square root calculation for each part of the sector. This gives us the clearest perspective on CPD across FE and skills sector.
If you are contacted as part of this year’s sample, there are different ways in which your CPD might be reviewed:
- Invitation to focus group meetings
- Online and telephone conferencing
- In REfLECT or other electronic formats
The sample will be identified at different times in the CPD declaration cycle and if contacted, you will be asked to send in evidence of your recorded CPD within two weeks of notification.
We trust that sharing your CPD in one of these ways will have positive outcomes for you and thank you for being involved in this exercise.
