Skills for Sustainable Growth – IfL consultation of members

On 22 July 2010, the minister of state for further education, skills and lifelong learning, John Hayes MP, launched Skills for Sustainable Growth, a consultation document outlining the Department of Business Innovation and Skills’ vision for skills and what are expected to be the key elements of a strategy for delivering it.

IfL intends to respond to this consultation and is seeking the views of members, to ensure that teachers and trainers are given the chance to contribute their valuable input to a future skills policy, along with employers, colleges and training organisations.

To participate in this consultation, please complete the online survey before 17.00 on Friday 10 September 2010. The survey is designed to reflect the key questions posed by the government. You can complete as many or as few questions as you wish.

We appreciate that the timing of this survey coincides with the holiday period for many members, but we believe that it is important for IfL to be able to represent the views of teachers and trainers across the sector.

After the 10 September 2010 close date, IfL will collate the feedback received into a single response on behalf of IfL members to be sent to BIS by the end of September. We will also publish this response on our website www.ifl.ac.uk
