Guides on embedding technology in your teaching
Technology guides to support the embedding of technology
A series of technology guides has been created by LLUK to help lifelong learning providers to embed technology into their teaching methods.
Three separate technology guideshave been created to support different areas of the lifelong learning workforce. The easy-to-read guides provide a resource to support professional development needs, encourage development of new knowledge and skills, and aid curriculum development, delivery and assessment.

Accessing support and information
Lifelong Learning UK has also created a ‘staffroom poster’ which highlights the sources of information and support available to teachers, helping them use new technologies and social media. The poster will help teachers navigate their way through the wide array of information available.

Technology in education would make people feel more confident
The technology guides have been produced after LLUK research revealed that 49% of people would feel more confident using technology in the workplace if it had been incorporated more into their training and education. Half of all office workers also felt they would waste less time at work if they had better knowledge of technology.
Lifelong Learning UK believes embedding technology in learning methods has a long-term impact on learners’ employment prospects and life after learning. This is supported by these latest figures, which reveal that 1 in 5 feel their job prospects would improve as a result of understanding more about technology. In addition, a fifth of those polled would feel more confident applying for a job if they were more adept at using technology.Bryony Taylor, Lifelong Learning UK’s expert in technology enhanced learning said: “This new research is supported by figures which show that over the last 20 years, the proportion of people using IT in their job has nearly doubled to 77 per cent. Lifelong Learning UK has responded to the needs of learners by developing these technology guides to help the further education workforce make sense of technology enhanced learning. In doing so, we aim to help education professionals to prepare their learners for living and working in the 21st century, by providing the best sources of support to help bring new technology into learning.”
