IfL Volunteer Connections

IfL Volunteer Connections are staff volunteers who support other IfL members in their organisation or local area, helping them with effective continuing professional development (CPD) and the use of REfLECT, IfL’s personal learning space for members. IfL Volunteer Connections provide a link between the organisation, staff and IfL.

Support from IfL

As an IfL Volunteer Connection, you will receive a range of support including:

  • Online materials and resources
  • Fast track advice and guidance
  • Latest information on research and development
  • Opportunities to share ideas with peers and colleagues
  • Development days (promoted on the events page) to support your role
  • The support you give to your colleagues and peers could also count towards your CPD (illustrated in the training and support cycle diagram below)

Benefits for your organisation

Boosting effectiveness and efficiency

IfL Volunteer Connections can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the CPD of all staff across the organisation, which, in turn, is of real benefit to learners.

Keeping colleagues and staff up-to-date

IfL Volunteer Connections disseminate information about the latest IfL developments on CPD, Professional Formation and REfLECT, and can also collaborate with managers and your HR department.

Increasing confidence and competence

IfL Volunteer Connections share their learning from IfL’s regular development training days with colleagues. This knowledge can include training and support on the use of REfLECT, increasing confidence and competence in using technology.
