IfL launches CPD application for iPhone and iPod touch
Thursday 13 May 2010
The Institute for Learning (IfL) has launched i-REfLECT, a mobile application that supports the use of REfLECT, the online personal learning space that IfL provides for its 200,000 members – teachers and trainers in further education and skills – to record, reflect on and share their continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
Jean Kelly, IfL's director of professional development, said, "We believe that innovations in mobile technology can make teaching and learning more accessible and engaging. i-REfLECT is just one of a number of mobile applications that we have provided to our members to support the use of REfLECT.
"The application has been developed based on direct feedback from members who wanted to be able to record CPD while on the move or without access to a personal computer. i-REfLECT allows them to upload images and video; record reflections and activity records; and post any of these to a blog or CPD record. Members who use REfLECT and own an Apple iPhone or iPod touch will love this new app."
i-REfLECT is available to all IfL members who have a REfLECT account, and can be downloaded for free from the Apple iTunes app store.
