Voting is now open for 19 positions on IfL’s Advisory Council until noon on Wednesday 16 November.

So why vote? Tony Prideaux speaks to IfL Chair Sue Crowley and current Advisory Council members Jacki Hughes and Govind Bharadia about why IfL members should vote in this year's elections.

Govind Bharadia MIfL

IfL Advisory Council member since 2009 and also holds the reserved seat for Sixth Form Colleges.

Govind works as Programme Area Manager at Stanmore College and is also a member of the ATL union. He has extensive experience of FE Educational issues and also of hospitality, travel & tourism, retail, business development and educational organisations.

In addition to his responsibilities on Advisory Council, Govind is also a member of the Non-Executive Board (NEB).

Jacki Hughes FIfL

IfL Advisory Council member since 2007

Jacki has worked in further education for more than 20 years in a range of roles including teacher, personal tutor, team leader and deputy principal. She currently works as an interim manager in FE colleges and as a part time inspector for Ofsted.

As one of the earlier members of IfL’s first Council, Jacki has a great deal of experience in the development of IfL and its structures. She is a member of the Non-Executive Board (NEB) and sits on the Audit Committee.
