QTLS for teaching in schools

IfL responded to the Department for Education (DfE) consultation on proposals to enable teachers with QTLS to teach in schools as qualified teachers in December 2011. 

2,500 members responded to our survey to share views and shape IfL’s response in support of the DfE proposals. 

DfE will respond to the consultation in early 2012 to inform us if the proposals will go ahead as planned or if there will be any changes to the recommendations. If the proposals are accepted then legislation needs to be changed to support this which the DfE currently intends to have in place by April 2012.
